Do I have to participate in the Fine Arts Festival to apply for Praisong?
No, beginning in 2004, students do not have to participate in the Fine Arts Festival. However, we feel that the Fine Arts program is one of the best ways to sharpen your talent. Individuals who have participated in the FAF usually reflect their training in the submitted audition tape. The Fine Arts Festive is sponsored each spring by the Oklahoma District Youth Department of the Assemblies of God.
How old do I need to be to participate in Praisong?
There is not an age requirement. Students may participate the summer after their 10th, 11th, and 12th grade years in high school.
Can a person be in Praisong more than one year?
Yes, however the most a student can participate is three years.
Do I have to go to an audition?
Well, yes and no. You don't have to go to an audition but you must submit an video audition tape.
When do I need to send my tape?
You should send your tape after you have submitted your application on-line. Tapes must be post marked no later than January 31.
What needs to be on the video audition tape?
You auditioning. Well, what were you thinking??
What are the requirments for the video audition tape?
The video audition tape may not be more than ten (10) minuets in total length. Within that ten minutes, at least three minutes must be devoted to answering the required interview questions. [Example: Four minutes spent answering the questions and six minute audition of talent would be acceptable. But two minutes answering the questions and eight minute talent audition would not be acceptable.]

Can I include more than one talent area on my audition tape?
Yes, the presentation of multiple talents may allow the selection committee to consider you in several areas. But remember,audition tape may not be more than ten (10) minuets in total length and must meet the time division discussed above. So if you want to include more than one talent area, you must use your time wisely in reflecting those talents.
What media is required for the audition tape?
You can submit your audition tape on VHS tape, DV tape, Digital 8 tape, DVD or a HDAVC file. Make sure the DVD is not "copyright protected" when submitted. ( They can be cracked but it is a really pain!) Audio only is not acceptable! It is suggested that you review your media before sending it. We have received media that was blank. (Not as hard to crack but after a while, snow is boring.)
Can I be in Praisong if I don't play an instrument, sing, or act?
Yes, but Praisong is a performance group. Past teams have included mime and human video. We have also had team members who assisted on the tech side of the program. If God has given you insight in how to use your talent in a performance manner, please prepare a video of your performance idea and discuss with the Directors. (One young lady who wrote poetry ministered by doing an interpretative reading of her poetry with background music.)
If, you have been in Praisong previously, do you have to re-apply?
Yes, each year you must apply and have a recommendation from your youth pastor. If you want to be considered for a different area than your previous participation, you must also submit an audition tape. You do not need to answer the interview questions, but your talent audition should not be longer than seven (7) minutes. Remember, selection is not automatic!
When is my money due?
You must submit a $25.00 application fee with your audition tape. Make your check out to Praisong. (Sorry, this fee is not refundable.) If you are selected then the balance of the funds will be due in three payments over the next three months.
How can I get Praisong to come to my church?
Have your Pastor or Youth Pastor contact us with the link on this site. (Unless you are a Pastor or YP, then you can have your wife contact us. Remember we have been doing this for a long time, we know who really runs the show!)
